The Pain Behind the Panic
The hidden reason your fireworks training isn't working - and what to do about it
The live webinar took place on 23rd September 2026 but you can still sign up to receive the recording and transcript.
Is your dog terrified of fireworks?
You've tried all the things.
The taiko drumming videos. Classic FM's playlist for dogs. Hush Hoodies. Building dens. Fleeing to the countryside. Medication. Playing firework sounds paired with tasty food.
And maybe some of them helped, a little.
But your dog is still struggling more than you feel they should be, given everything you've put in.
My dog Sandy was terrified of fireworks too.
Shaking. Panting. Frantically searching for somewhere safe to hide. As the nights drew in, it got harder and harder just to get her outside for her bedtime wee. We lived in Bristol at the time, where fireworks started on Halloween and didn't really stop until New Year.
Here's something I didn't know until Sandy: pain can be a factor in noise sensitivity.
Join me on Wednesday 23rd September at 7pm to look into:
Why pain can affect how sensitive a dog is to noise
What this might mean for your own dog this fireworks season
What you can actually do about it
Replays available to all who register.
Join live and there's a small thank-you gift from me at the end.
Can't make it on the night? No problem - the session will be recorded, and you'll get a link to watch in your own time.
A quick note: this webinar isn't primarily about training or management strategies, although if there's time in the Q&A, I'm happy to share a little of what helped Sandy. The main focus is understanding pain as a piece of the puzzle that's often missed.
